Hello! My name is Ms. Anderson and I am excited to be working as the music and movement teacher at Howard Early Childhood Center. The 2023-2024 school year marks my eighth year of teaching at Howard; however, this is my nineteenth year of teaching all together.
Growing up in southern California I found my love for music when I began taking piano lessons at the young age of six. I am so grateful to my parents for providing me with the opportunity to take those lessons, for without that experience I would not be where I am today. Throughout my teenage years my love for music continued to grow to a point where it was all that I could do. I completed my undergraduate music degree at The University of California - Davis (Go Aggies!), and my master's degree in music education at Teachers College - Columbia University in NYC. My education, my love for music, and my love for travel has helped me to pursue rich teaching and learning opportunities all over the world, for which I'm grateful. Music has truly been my window to the world!
My goal as the music teacher at Howard is to provide all of your/our children with a rich musical education experience, to help foster and try to create well-rounded individuals, so that one day they may love music as much as I do. I look forward to a really amazing and fun year!
